## How it works

1. **Open Backups**: In Studio, open the Backups tab. Versions lists the restore points, while Storage and Database list the backups of your files and your data.
2. **Pick a restore point**: Filter by date, open the menu of a version or a backup and choose Restore. For a version, pick Everything, Files only, Database only or Functions only.
3. **Publish the result**: A restored database is live right away. Restored files change the live site only after you publish again, so you can check them first.

### How do I restore a previous version of my website?

Open Backups, find the version by its date and choose Restore, then pick what to bring back. Restoring needs Premium on that site, and the current state is saved as a version before anything changes.

### How long are website backups kept?

Each version and backup shows its expiry date in the list, and older copies are removed automatically once the retention period ends. The newest version never expires.

### Are backups included on the free Starto plan?

Yes. Automatic backups run for every site on both plans, once a day on Starto. Restoring, downloading, backing up by hand and changing the schedule are part of Premium.
