Connect your domain
With Premium, add your domain in Settings. The redirect switches appear once the domain shows Connected.

Set the www redirect
In the row of your domain, keep Redirect www on to send www visitors to the root domain, or turn it off to let both versions open.

Redirect the free address
In the Domain card, leave Redirect the subdomain to the main domain on, so the free address forwards visitors to your domain.
Frequently asked questions
Should my website use www or not?
Either works, but pick one. Google treats www and the root domain as two different addresses, so the www redirect sends every visitor to the root and keeps your ranking signals in one place.
What happens to my free address after I connect a domain?
It keeps working and, with the subdomain redirect on, sends visitors to the same page on your domain. Turn the switch off if you want the free address to show the site on its own.
Which redirects happen automatically?
Addresses ending in .html or index.html always go to their clean version with a permanent redirect. The www and free address redirects start once a domain is connected, and both stay on unless you turn them off.
